Some projects undertaken by The Lions Club of Exeter during the last 10 years, include: -
1. A special "floating" X-ray table/bed for the RD&E hospital costing £5000.
2. Numerous Christmas Parties for OAP's, and Summer outings.
3. Holidays for needy families in conjunction with Red Cross or Social Services.
4. Tens of thousands of toys collected at Christmases and distributed locally with the help of E&E.
5. Gardens dug and kept neat for OAP's who are alone and/or disabled with age.
6. Complete refurbishment of the Lions Den in the children's ward at the RD&E hospital.
7. An old lady living in Exeter, and dying of cancer, had a wish to see London, a place that she had never seen and a stage show A fortnight before she died, she was transported, taken to the best of hotels and a show, shown the sights of London and returned over a long weekend. This is just one example of many like endeavours.
8. £ 250 is sent to India for "Eye Camps" every year, the result is 26 people having their sight restored, some 200 being treated to prevent sight loss, and a special nurse has been trained.
9. Many, many other local projects undertaken, plus support for the Local and Children's Hospice, here in Devon. In the past three years we have donated over £18,000 to local Health Services
